The Quality Control Inspector will ensure that the customer’s and Photo-Sonics, Inc.’s quality requirements are evaluated, planned and met for all finished products.  The ideal candidate will have aerospace/defense experience ensuring all manufacturing processes are evaluated for consistent quality and determining that finished products meet all required standards and criteria. 

The Quality control inspector will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Ensures product conformity to establish requirements by evaluating product to customer and/or Engineering drawings, specifications and related documents.
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Performs inspections, Receiving, 1st Article, Mechanical, In- Process and Final inspections of parts and assemblies in accordance with applicable Engineering criteria, documents, drawings and workmanship standards. Documents results in various reports/logs.
  • Performs inspections using Precision Measurement equipment/devices.
  • Performs functional testing of assemble units.
  • Ensures proper operation of measurement equipment by following operating instructions.  Coordinates calibration activities and maintain records of various tools, instruments and gauges used for Product acceptance or Verification/Validation.
  • Assists Engineering and Operations in the investigation of non-conformities.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures, and complying with all applicable regulations.
  • Approves or rejects finished product.
  • Determines specifications by reading blueprints, specifications and other documents.
  • Complies with ITAR/EAR.
  • Complies with  AS9100 Quality management system
  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products. Recommends adjustments to the assembly or production process.
  • Inspects, tests, or measures materials or products being produced.
  • Measures products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Establishes proper receiving inspection process.
  • May interface with Customers, Suppliers and /or Regulatory agencies as appropriate.
  • Producing NCMR reports
  • Coordinating MRB reviews
  • Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.


  • Minimum of 7 years related experience. 
  • Extensive knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gages, bore gauges, and dial indictors. Good manual dexterity and adept in use of precision measuring tools.
  • Operate electronic inspection equipment, such as coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs).
  • Experience with testing electrical devices; voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters to test potential difference, current flow, and resistance.
  • Experience in Excel
  • Detail Oriented
  • Good communication skills, ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Physical Requirements of this position requires ability to walk, sit, talk, see, stand, use hands, reach, climbing stairs, some lifting.
  • Experience inspecting electronic COTS components a plus.

Stock Room Clerk

We're a close-knit group that enjoys working with each other in an entrepreneurial environment.  We have an immediate opening for a Stock Room Clerk.  We are located in the Chatsworth area and are looking for a self-starter to join our team. . 

The Stock Room Clerk will provide support to the Stock Room including but not limited to:
Issuing and receiving stock as needed; maintaining inventory in bins/cabinets, insuring kits from pick lists and data entry of all inventory transactions; will work with Shop and Purchasing to assign work order quantities for machine shop lot sizing and assist with the company’s annual physical inventory.

Responsibilities include compiling and recording production data from MRP, work orders, process sheets and bills of material to ensure on-time delivery; will and ensure compliance with computer procedures.  Individual will be responsible for the quality of documentation and records that affect production, purchasing, inventory records and other aspects of production.  Individual will perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Min 1 year Stock Room experience
Accurate typing
Legible handwriting
Experience with database and inventory control software
Qualified candidate must have ability to perform assignments accurately and efficiently. 
Position requires ability to stand,  climb stairs, walk, lift  up to 50 lbs. and sit for long periods of time. 
Prefer experience working with engineering document control revisions; knowledge of MRP (Material Requirement Planning) and Dynamic NAV (Navision).

The Conventional Mill & Lathe Machinist will ensure that products meet precise specifications; will work with aluminum castings, aluminum wrought alloys, mild steel & stainless steels, some close tolerances.  Will work on large lathe machine.

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:

•Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce metal parts.
•Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.
•Calculate where to cut or bore.
•Shape steel, aluminum, and other materials.
•Determine how fast or slow workpiece is fed into machine.
•Select tools and materials for the job.
•Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations.
•Mark the workpiece to show where cuts should be made.
•Position workpiece on the drill press, lathe, or milling machine.
•Monitor and control feed rate and speed.
•Ensure workpiece is properly lubricated and/or cooled.
•Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.
•Use manual and computer-controlled machinery.



Qualified applicant must possess 5 years as a machinist and have ability to read blueprints and work from process sheets. 
Position requires ability to communicate effectively in English and follow written and verbal instructions. 
Must have own hand tools. 
Requires experience and knowledge of using of Mic’s, scales, calipers & indicators,

Physical requirements: Position requires ability to frequently stand; walk; use hands and reach with hands and arms. The employee may also be required to lift product or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
